lattella germanica (L.), four different plante essential oils (geranio

linalool,citral and anisaldehyde), which had been proved to be effective in rep
elling mosquitoes, were tested for their effectiveness for repelling adult male

ockroaches. N,Ndiethyl3methylbenzamide (DEET), a traditional repellent
, was s
et as the standard for the repelling effectiveness comparison. Each kind of esse
ntial oil was tested at four different doses of 1, 10, 100 and 1 000 μg/cm
2 resp
ectively. The finding of the experiment was as following: the effectiveness of t
he four repellents increased with their dosage increment. All types of the
plant essential oils showed to be more effective than DEET in repelling the Germ
an bugs. Among those chemical, linalool showed the highest repelling efficiency
. When the
repellent agent was 100 and 1 000 μg/cm2 dose, there was a significant d
ifferen
ce in the repelling effectiveness of four types of oils (P<005). The study
sugg
ests that linalool could be developed as a promising German cockroach repellent.
室内测定4种蚊虫驱避效果较好的植物精油(香叶醇、芳樟醇、柠檬醛和茴香
