Abstract:The content of energy substance and its consumption and effect of population density on energetic reserves of Oedaleus asiaticus B.Bienko were tested. The results showed that the content of energy reserves changed with days after emergence, the content were lower on eclosion of adult and at the 10 or 13 days old reached to maximum, then began to decline. The content of energy substance of same ages in O. asiaticus exhibited quite different on different population densities, the content of glyceride of high-density populations was significantly greater than the low-density populations’. About energy consumption, O. asiaticus mainly use glycogen and glyceride during flight and glyceride can ensure its long-range flight.
