Abstract： Being one of the earliest provincial-level entomological societies in China, the Jiangsu Entomological Society dates back to the “Six-Legged Society” founded in 1920 and was formally established in 1960. This paper reviews the history of the Jiangsu Entomological Society including its functions and achievements, and also looks forward to the future development of the society.
