Progress in the study of fossil insects in China

Abstract:Fossil insects have been studied in China for almost a century. During the last 70 years, palaeoentomology has developed and evolved tremendously in China, with a great quantity and quality of achievements. This paper reviews the history of fossil insect taxonomy, phylogeny, biology and coevolution in China. Work and results over the past century have established a substantial foundation for palaeoentomology in China and made a promising future for this field.
