Effect of spermidine on development and activitiy of protective enzymes of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella

Abstract:
Effect of spermide on feeding, survival and activity of protective enzymes in the diamondback moth Plutella xylostella L. larvae was studied. The results showed that feeding amount, survival rate, pupation rate and activity of SOD and POD of the diamondback moth were significantly higher after treatment than those of the controls, and activity of CAT were also significantly higher at 24 and 36 h after treatment. But there was no significant difference in pupa weight and eclosion rate between the treatments and the controls.
