Abstract:Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) is a molecular fingerprinting technique based on PCR and RFLP. It has been used extensively in many fields, such as genetic diversity, phylogenetic evolution and taxonomy, location of target genes, construction of genetic mapping, markerassisted breeding, quality
judgment and so on. This review summarizes the principles, characteristics and development of AFLP, and its applications in honeybee research.
