Effect of steviol glycosides on growth and reproduction of Drosophila mel nogaster anogaster

Abstract：Effect of Steviol glycosides on growth，reproduction and Life span of Drosophila melanogaster Meigen was investigated. D. melanogaster were fed with medium containing steviol glycosides. Results showed that high density extracts of Stevia glycosides hurted D. melanogaster in some degree and diminished the insect reproduction. However, D. melanogaster could live normally in the medium containing low ncentrations of Steviol glycosides.
