The developmental threshold temperature and the effective accumulated temperature of the red biotype of Macrosiphum avenae

Abstract:

The growth rate of the red nymphs of Macrosiphum avenae (Fabricius) throughout the whole asexual generation from 14℃ to 26℃ was recorded. The results showed that the developmental duration of the red biotype of M. avenae decreased with the increase of temperature. The developmental threshold temperature and effective accumulated temperature were different when using different methods to calculate. The variation coefficient was minimum when using the linear regression method, and the developmental threshold temperature  and effective accumulated temperature was 4.478℃ and 110.662 degree-day, respectively.
