Abstract:The topical application method has been applied with carbosulfan in selection of a susceptible strain of Asian corn borer,Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenée),for 10 successive selection generations. After the 5th generation, the LD50was 2.50 μg per larva with resistance ratio of 3.23,significantly higher than that of susceptible. It was demonstrated that there was apparent cross-resistance when carbosulfan was delt with lamda-cyhalothrin or phoxim resistant strain. It was suggested that when carbosulfan was sprayed for controlling the Asian corn borer in field, spraying times need to be limited and alternating insecticide will be selected.
