Antifeeding activities of Dodonaea viscose seed extracts against Plutella xylostella

Abstract：Antifeeding activities of extracts of Dodonaea viscose(L.)Jacq seeds against Plutella xylostella (L.) were bioassayed. Petroleum, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and ethanol were used as extraction solvents. All four extracts had high antifeeding effect against the 3th instar larvae.The activity of the ethanol extract was significantly higher than that of other extracts.The relative activity of the four extracts was ethanol>ethyl acetate > chloroform>petroleum.The AFC50 of the ethanol extract was 321.19 mg·L-1 in 24 hours and 650.27 mg·L-1 and in 48 hours in no choice,and 1 808.62 mg\5L-1 in 24 hours and 2 813.34 mg·L-1 in 48 hours in choice test.
