Abstract: The developmental threshold temperature and the effective accumulated temperature for the pupae of Carpomya vesuviana Costa were caculated to be 13.63℃ and 807.55 degreedays, respectively. The confidence interval of mean monthly soil surface temperature in Turpan was calculated with the records from 1988 to 2007. According to the effective accumulated temperature formula and the confidence interval, it was predict that the overwintering adult emergence would firstly occur from 13th to 22nd of May in the field. Compared with the practical emergence date in 2008, the forecasted result was proved to be accurate.
