Observation on antennal sensilla of Adelphocoris suturalis with scannin g electron microscopy.

Abstract： Adelphocoris suturalis Jakovlev is a most important pest of cotton in China at p resent. Antennal morphology and sensilla of A. suturalis were studi ed w ith scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that four types of sensilla were observed on the antenna of adults and nymphae, including sensilla chaetica , sensilla trichodea, sensilla basiconca, and bahm bristles, and no morphologic a l difference was found in these sensilla between male and female adults. There were two types for sensilla trichodea. Some bohm bristles formed sensilla cluste r on antenna of nymphae.
