Abstract:   Establishing artificial rearing experimental population in laboratory is the fou

ndation of study on striped flea beetles (SFB, Phyllotreta striolat(Fabriciu

s)), in which a key technique is rearing method of larvae. Two improved rearing methods for SFB

larvae with young plants of cruciferae vegetable and flakes of radish in labora

tory were presented in this paper. The results showed that the highest survival

rate of SFBs could reach over 90%, and it was more convenient to obtain insect i

n different stages. These methods were easy to operate and may provide effective

approaches for getting standard experimental insect for further research of SFB

.
