Abstract: Eicosanoids, including prostaglandin, thromboxane and leucotriene, are widely studied in higher animals. A few researchers have found that eicosanoids play an important role in insect cellular immunity. Here, we report the role of eicosanoids in resistance to invasive bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses in insects, and address potential issues for future research.
