Abstract: Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius)is a species complex comprised of many biotypes. Biotype Q is replacing biotype B to become the predominant biotype in parts of China. The comparison of genetic diversity between biotypes B and Q is important to comprehend the genetic basis of the two biotypes’ competition. The AFLP method was used to study the population genetic diversity of the Q1,Q2 and B biotype. The results show that the genetic diversity of biotype Q is higher than that of B, and that of Q1 similar to that of Q2. Finally, the characteristics of AFLP and SSR are discussed.
