Abstract: order to reveal the status of and the threats to domesticated honeybees and wild pollinators, a pollinating insect biodiversity monitoring and assessment system has been developed in Europe and North America. Some projects, such as the AgriEnvironmental Scheme (AES), have been implemented in several European countries to conserve agricultural organisms, including pollinators. China is rich in insect pollinators but the importance of conserving these has been ignored. No program or project to monitor pollinators and assess their status has been carried out, and their population trends across time are still unknown. Therefore, we propose the establishment of a platform to monitor and assess pollinators in China.
