Abstract:

This paper presents the results of an investigation on the species composition and distribution of phytophagous thrips in more than 30 counties, including nearly all the cities of Guangxi Province. The results show that the most widely distributed and most abundant thrips are Frankliniella intonsa Trybom, Haplothrips chinensis Priesner, Thrips palmi Karny and Thrips hawaiiensis Morgan. One newly recorded species, Frankliniella schultzei Trybom, was found. A key to the common adult phytophagous thrips of Guangxi Province is provided.
