Abstract：This paper summarizes progress in research on the morphology and physiological function of aphid antennal sensilla and documents general techniques used in research on antennal sensilla. The type, shape and ultrastructure of aphid antennal sensilla are described. Moreover, the physiological function of the different types of sensilla and their molecular chemoreception mechanisms are discussed
