Effects of different temperatures and density on the survival and reproduction of Aphis gossypii on cotton plants

Abstract: The leaf disc method was used to assess the effects of temperature and density on the survival and reproduction of Aphis gossypiiGlover on cotton plants under laboratory conditions. The results show that the survival and reproduction ofA. gossypii decreased with both increasing temperature and density,especially at 40℃. The effect of density decreasedwith increasing temperature and density had no effect on survival and reproduction at temperatures above 40℃. No aphids survived 3-4 days at 42℃. These results provide a basis for improving the accuracy of forecasting and deciding when tospray insecticide.
