Abstract:Major royal jelly proteins of honeybee provide nutrition to queens and larvae, affect the behavior of swarms andregulate the physiological functions of individual bees. In addition,as the major component of royal jelly, the proteins alsoperform amazing biological functions for other organisms. Recently, more and more studies have focused on major royaljelly proteins. Here,we highlight recent advances in research on the major royal jelly proteins of,honeybee including their discovery, categorization, function, evolution and gene expression analysis.
