截止2010年6月20日，SCI共收录昆虫学期刊86种；其中核心或内圈期刊42种，扩展或外圈期刊44种，总数比2009年同期增加4种。核心期刊的数量与期刊均与去年相同，扩展期刊的数量与种类则有所变化，新增了捷克的《布拉格国家昆虫博物馆馆报》、德国的《节肢动物系统学与系统发育》、美国的《美国昆虫学》、韩国的《亚太昆虫学杂志》及奥地利的《蚁学新闻》5种期刊，而多年被收录且质量并未多大变化的美国《纽约昆虫学会杂志》今年则未被收录。
       2009年相关期刊的影响因子见表1；表中各刊的名字按字母顺序排列，部分新加入的期刊尚未有影响因子，以前有影响因子的《农业和城市昆虫学杂志》2009年的影响因子没有公布。
       2009年影响因子最高的前两份期刊仍然是综述性期刊《昆虫学年评》(11.2171)和《昆虫生理学进展》（10.500）。综合性期刊中影响因子排名前十的份期刊依次为《昆虫生物化学和分子生物学》（3.117）、《昆虫保护与多样性》（2.828）、《昆虫分子生物学》（2.568）、《系统昆虫学》（2.467）、《昆虫生理学杂志》（2.235）、《害虫管理科学》（2.190）、《医学和兽医昆虫学》（2.092）、《医学昆虫学杂志》（1.921）、《昆虫保护杂志》（1.842）及《杀虫剂生物化学和生理学》（1.719）。
       已有影响因子的昆虫学期刊中，影响因子最低的为《埃及害虫生物防治》（0.047）。2009年SCI昆虫学期刊的平均影响因子为1.305，比2008年的（1.168）有所增加；如果去掉两个综述性期刊，平均影响因子为1.039，比2008年的（0.956）也略有增加。
       在这些期刊中，影响因子大于3的期刊仅3个，影响因子在2~3之间的期刊有6个，影响因子在1~2之间的期刊有25个，影响因子小于1及没有影响因子的期刊有52个。
      可喜的是我国《中国昆虫科学》2009年的影响因子达到了1.118，比2008年的影响因子（0.683）有明显提高，不仅超过了2009年的平均影响因子，而且排名由昆虫学科的第43位上升至第30位。
