Abstract: Aproceros leucopoda Takeuchi is a new pest of elms in Songshan, Yanqing County, north of Beijing, discovered in July 2010This parthenogenetic and multivoltine sawfly has already invaded Europe and may spread to other parts of northern China wherever elms grow. This paper describes the morphology and bionomics of adult and immature insects, including illustrations and color diagrams.
