Artificial rearing method of diamondback moth by green vegetable and white radish

Abstract: Artificial rearing of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L., has been the foundation of research on this species. When reared on green vegetables and white radish at a temperature of (24±1)℃, R.H. of 60%—70% and a photoperiod of L∶D=14∶10 hatching and the adult emergence rates can exceed 90%. This method is simple, practical and economical; a very convenient way to manage and supply insects for research.
