Artificial rearing method of diamondback moth by green vegetable and white radish

Abstract： Artificial rearing of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L., has been the foundation of research on this species. When reared on green vegetables and white radish at a temperature of （24±1）℃, R.H. of 60%—70% and a photoperiod of L∶D=14∶10 hatching and the adult emergence rates can exceed 90%. This method is simple, practical and economical; a very convenient way to manage and supply insects for research.
