Morphology of the digestive system of Locusta migratioriamanilensis after ingesting malathion

Abstract： The digestive system of Locusta migratioria manilensis ( Meyen) that hadingestedMalathionwasobserved under light microscopy． The morphology of the crop，proventriculus，gastric caecum，midgut，ileum，ccolon and rectum was affected markedly by contact with Malathion． The main pathological changes were damaged intima，dead epithelial cells，necrotic longitudinal muscle，necrotic circular muscle，and so on． These results here demonstrate that Malathion can adversely affect on the complete process of digestion，including food storage，grinding and nutrient absorption， ultimately causing death．
