The morphology of the reproductive system of Colias fieldii

Abstract:The morphological structure of the reproductive system of the Colias fieldii Ménétriés was described. The male internal genitalia is composed of testes, a pair of seminal vesicles, a couple of vasa deferentia, two ductus ejaculatorius duplex, a pair of accessory glands and ductus ejaculatorius simplex, of which the two testicular follicles are closely united as one and enclosed in the translucent scrotum, the ductus ejaculatorius simplex is relatively long and can be divided into four different sections. The male genitalia consisted of valvae, aedeagus and other accessory structure. The female internal genitalia contain a pair of ovary, two lateral oviducts and one common oviduct, kidney-shaped spermatheca, accessory glands, genital chamber and oviporus. The ovary is symmetrical and each consisted of four polytrophic ovarioles. The genitalia include ductus seminalis, corpus bursae and associated parts, apophyses posteriores and papillae anales.
