Abstract:The root maggot, Bradysia odoriphaga Yang et Zhang, is one of the most important pests of Chinese chives ( Allium tuberosum) . However it has been found on an early matured and smal-l sized watermelon variety, named as Zao Chun Hong Yu in Caidian District, Hubei Province. Its life history, living habits and control methods were briefly introduced in this paper and they are similar to those inf on Chinese chives.
