Abstract:A quarantine fly, Dacus ( Dacus ) bivittatus ( Bigot) from passengers with pumpkins and aubergines was intercepted and captured by Guangzhou Airdrome Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in July 2006. This pest originated from Africa and has never been found in China. This paper reviews its morphological characters, hosts, bionomics and control strategy.
