Abstract:The ber fruit fly, Carpomy a vesuviana Costa, is one of Chinese new quarantine pests which are prohibited into China regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture. Its potential invasion may lead to diastral damage to Chinese date production. The paper provided the morphological characters of the pest and a key to the known species of the genus Carpomya. Moreover, the impacts, bionomics and some investigating and control methods were given for more carefully and seriously prevention of its invasion.
