Influence of soil moisture on growth and development of Holotrichia

Abstract：Influence of soil moisture on the growth and development of Holotrichia oblita Faldermann was studied. It was found that soil mositure had different effect on the different developmental stage. The optimal water content was 10%～20% for eggs, 10%～15% for larvae, and 15%～20% for pupae. The sexual ratio of the adult was close to 1∶1, when the water content was 10%～15%. The generation survival rate was highest when the water content was 15%.
