Super-cooling point (SCP) and freezing point (FP) were measured to confirm the cold tolerance of larvae, pupae, adult drone, adult worker, virgin queen and overwintering queen of Bombus terrestris, and adult drone, adult worker, virgin queen of Bombus ignitus. The results indicated that the cold tolerance of larvae of B. terrestris was the minimum, and that of pupae, adult drone, and adult worker was sequentially followed that of virgin queen. Overwintering queen had the lowest water content, and the maximum cold tolerance. B. ignitus had higher cold tolerance than B. terrestris. The correlation was not significantly between fresh weight, water content and SCP and FP in the same group of Bombus.
