Abstract:

Direct, indirect and double-antibody-sandwich enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were examined with the monoclonal antibodies to detect the antigen of Macrosiphum avenae (Fabricius) in the gut of predatory ladybirds. The results showed indirect ELISA was more sensitively than direct ELISA, in which the detection sensitivities were 0.042 μg/mL and 0.083 μg/mL, respectively wheres double antibody sandwich ELISA was not sensitively to be used. An indirect ELISA method was set up in order to detect the antigen of M. avenae in the gut of predatory ladybirds, which established a reliable foundation for evaluating the predation of predatory ladybirds on M. avenae with the monoclonal antibodies.
