Abstract:Direct, indirect and double-antibody-sandwich enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were examined with the monoclonal antibodies to detect the antigen of Macrosiphum avenae (Fabricius) in the gut of predatory ladybirds. The results showed indirect ELISA was more sensitively than direct ELISA, in which the detection sensitivities were 0.042 μg/mL and 0.083 μg/mL, respectively wheres double antibody sandwich ELISA was not sensitively to be used. An indirect ELISA method was set up in order to detect the antigen of M. avenae in the gut of predatory ladybirds, which established a reliable foundation for evaluating the predation of predatory ladybirds on M. avenae with the monoclonal antibodies.
