Abstract:Based on the life history, geographical distribution and requirement for the ecological environment of Oriental fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), the relationship between its growth and climatic factors were analyzed in order to clarify the influence of temperature, humidity, rainfall and other climatic factors for the geographical distribution. The results showed that Oriental fruit fly tended to live in the wet and hot environment, but low temperature and drought was detrimental to its growth and development. Temperature was the main factor on the latitudinal distribution, i.e., low temperature in winter was the major limited factor in middle and high latitudes, and the high temperature in summer was one of the limited factors in the low latitudes. Rainfall may influence the longitudinal range of Oriental fruit fly.
