Abstract:The larval development of Kallima inachus Doubleday was investigated under d ifferent photoperiod and temperature in artificial climate_chamber. The results showed that, photoperiod had remarkable influece on the developmental periods of larvae at 20℃, but not at 25℃ and 30℃. As temperature increasing, the developmental periods of larvae became shorter under the same photoperiod. The developmental period of larvae at 20, 25℃ and 30℃ was 31.7~36.0 days, 26.37~27.4 days and 21.0~21.5 days, respectively. As temperature increasing, the difference of survival rate became larger under different photoperiod. The survival rate of larvae at 20, 25 and 30℃ was 80%~92%, 75%~95% and 55%~85%, respectively. The survival rate was very low at 30℃ under most photoperiod gradients, so it was not suitable to cultivate K. inachus larvae under this temperature.
