Preparation of functional jelly with extract from the housefly larvae

Abstract:It has been demonstrated that maggots Musca domestica L.are rich in nutrition, and contain many bioactive substances. Using orthogonal L9(34) and scientific sense evaluation, the best formula for producing jelly was 35% crude extraction from housefly larvae, 15% sugar, 0.18% citric acid and 1.4% carrageenan. The result revealed that 0.02% ascorbic acid plus 0.02% citric acid was the op.timum colour fixative, and 0.04% potassium sorbate was the best preservative.
