Advances of worker policing in Apis mellifera

Abstract：In most social hymenopteran insect colonies, recognition and policing of nestmates, kinship, caste and reproductive status is crucial for both the individual and the colony. Based on the domestic and international related researches,this paper gives an overview of worker policing, including the theoretical basis,police phenomenon,policing rates and policing mechanism in Apis mellifera and so on. Prospects for future research are also mentioned.
