Abstract:

.       Conservation and sustainable utilization of biodiversity have become a

hot issue in the conservation of global environment, in which insect diversity

is an important part. The preliminary investigation on insect diversity was cond

ucted in North LuoRiver basin, and the community structure of insects (13 orde

rs,, 96 families, and 346 species) was analyzed integrating associated literature

s. The results showed that the orders with large proportion of insects included

Coleoptera (33.62%), Lepidoptera (25.80%) and Orthoptera (15.65%), and the ot

her orders accounted for less than 10%. The phytophagous species accounted for 58.

26%, and the predatory species accounted for only 14.20%. Activities of insects

were most frequently in June & July, and then, with time elapsing, the number of

insects was gradually reduced. The results from the example of Tenebrionidae sho

wed that Tenebrionidae in Wuqi had the highest values of ShannonWiener diversi

ty, Margalef abundance and Pielou uniformity among the investigated locations, bu

t the lowest value of Simpson dominance, which was highest in Luochuan
