Abstract: The study on effect of sex ratio on propagate and control of sex pheromone on population of Plutella xylostella (L.) in field showed that higher the sex ratio (female to male) may lead to lower number of eggs laid, and lower hatchability of eggs. Under 1:1 and 4∶1 of female to male, the average eggs each female were 79.33 and 76.03, respectively, and the hatchability of eggs was 89.03% and 78.44%, respectively. Under 13∶1, the average eggs each female were 36, and the hatchability was 46.05%. When all was female, no eggs could hatch. Application of sex pheromone traps in cabbage field may decrease population density.
