Corrections of two weevil scientific names listed in the Catalogue of Quarantine Pest for Import Plants to the People's Republic of China

Abstract： Two weevil names, Rhynchites cupreus (L.) and Baris granulipennis (Tournier) belonging to family Curculionidae listed on the Catalogue of Quarantine Pest for Import Plants to the PRC 2007 should be correceted. The valid scientific names are Involvulus cupreus (L.) and Acythopeus granulipennis (Tournier) respectively. The paper presented some related discussion about scientific name’s change according to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. Moreover, some suggestions to investigate and check possible pests during import plant quarantine are given.
