Preference of termite Coptotermes curvignathus to several baits

Abstract：Several baits with different components had been chosen to study the food choice of termite Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren in timber quarantine. The results showed that TB04 was the best, in which sugarcane powder and citral were contained. The consumption rate, mud sheet area and mud sheet covering rate were 47.74%±4.69%, (8.06±0.18) cm2 and 89.53%±1.96%, respectively. The results of the field trial showed that TB03 containing sugarcarne and agatic powder and TB04 had good effects. The turther trials showed that the optimal temperature for trapring was 23～29℃, and the humid condition was better than dry condition. The trapping effect increased with the time lasting, and the number of termites tended to be constant after 72 hours.
