The relationship between insect resistance and fitness

Abstract：Insect resistance to insecticides often accompanies with fitness inferior position (i.e. fitness cost), that is the resistant insects show the developing rate, the survival rate and fecundity are lower than susceptive individual. The relationship between insect resistance and fitness or fitness cost of resistance, the mechanism, characteristic and the influence factors for fitness were introduced. The evolution of insect resistance to insecticides were discussed from the evolution ecology's aspect, and provided the theory support to assistant the resistance developing disciplinarian and insect resistance management.
