Research advances on sex pheromone of male insect

Abstract：This paper summarized the research advance on male insect sex pheromones, including the identified pheromones, their structure and function, releasing mechanism, and so on. Male insect pheromones are released from different parts of male insect bodies, and they are belonged to many kinds of chemicals. Pheromones of conspecific male insects are usually belonged to the same type chemical, while the chemical structures are different. However, male insects can utilize the little difference to attract female insects, urge the copulating and prevent interspecific mating, etc. Finally a prospect on the future research of male sex pheromone was given.
