Observing antennal sensilla of Bracon hebetor using scanning electron microscopy

Abstract：Antennal ultrastructure of Bracon hebetor Say was observed with scanning electron microscope. It was found that six types of sensilla, including sensillum trichodeumⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ, sensillum placodeum, sensillum chaeticum, sensillum squamiformium, sensillum basiconicum and foramen olfactorium, were found on the antenna of wasp. As the major sensilla, both sensillum trichodeum and sensillum placodeum were distributed widely on the antenna with larger amount. There was no significant difference between female and male antennal sensilla.
