Abstract: tRice stem dipping method was used to monitor the susceptibility of Nilaparvata lugens (Sta1) to imidacloprid from 2006 to 2008 and to buprofezin and fipronil from 2007 to 2008 in 7 field populations collected in Wuxue, Tianmen, Jianli, Tongcheng, Xiaogan, Gong'an, and Zaoyang of Hubei province. The results showed that the collected population produced resistance to imidacloprid with resistance index varied from 98.89 to 389.19, 69.00 to 153.33, and 56.32 to 116.89 respectively compared with the susceptible colony from year 2006 to 2008 although the resistance level decreased in three years, while the resistance to buprofezin with resistance index from 13.39 to 41.06 in 2007 and 6.94 to 20.44 in 2008 And the susceptible to fipronil with resistance index varied from 0.97 to 2.64 in 2007 and 0.63 to 1.42 in 2008. The strategy of resistance management of N. lugens was also proposed.
