Abstract：RNAi technology has been applied widely to the study of insect gene function. We here summarize recent research on dsRNA design, delivery methods and RNAi result analysis, and also discuss some key issues in RNAi experiments, such as the specificity of gene silencing, methods of choice for dsRNA delivery and RNAi diversity in different insect taxa.
