Abstract:

[Objectives]  The phylogenetic relationships among 7 genera of butterflies in the Pieridae were investigated. [Methods]  Based on partial sequences of the CO ( 609 bp) and Cytb ( 393 bp) genes, and with 2 species of Satyrinae as the outgroup, phylogenetic relationships were analyzed and reconstructed with the UPGMA and ME methods. [Results]  The molecular phylogenetic trees showed that Coenonympha amaryllis and Aphantopus hyperantu were an outgroup; Pieris, Pontia, Anthocharis, Gonepteryx, Aporis,Colias were, a group; Pontia and Pieris were a sister-group, Aporia and Mesapia were a group with a close relationship, Gonepteryx and Anthocharis were a sister-group.
