Potential geographic distribution of Asian gypsy moth,Lymantria dispar, in North America

Abstract:
The potential geographic distribution of Asian gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar(L.), in North America was studied with DYMEX 2.0 and ArcGIS 9.0, in which DYMEX parameters values and suitability scales has been established based on the distribution of L. dispar in China. The result showed the potential geographic distribution in North America included south of Canada, most of USA, and few areas in the middle and south of Mexico. It will provide decision support of plant quarantine for National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) in China.
