Abstract: Biological control of insect pests is an important branch of entomology. With the development of life sciences and biotechnology, and integration of different disciplines and different techniques, China has achieved a great progress in this area. We review the scientific researches and application of insects as natural enemies, entomopathogens, insect pheromones and biopesticides as well as the application of new biotechnologies, such as RNA interference, in pest management in China, and point out the existing problems and the areas that China should give the priority in the future in biological control of insect pests.
