Abstract： The encapsulation of sephadex beads by hemocytes from Helicoverpa armigera（Hübner）was investigated. The encapsulation mechanism differed for different kinds of sephadex beads. H. armigera hemocytes have strong ability to encapsulate sephadex A\|25; encapsulation began rapidly and ended 12 h post\|injection.
