Effects of two live diets on the development and reproduction of Orius sauteri (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae

Abstract： The development and reproduction of Orius sauteri (Poppius) fed on two different live diets, Drosophila melanogaster (Meigen)and Frankliniella occidentalis(Pergande), was compared.There was no significant difference in developmental period (12.36 d vs 12.19 d) or fecundity (89.58 vs 95.72 eggs) between O.sauteri fed on either diet.These results suggest that both diets are equally suitable for the mass of rearing of O.sauteri in captivity.
