Abstract: The development and reproduction of Orius sauteri (Poppius) fed on two different live diets, Drosophila melanogaster (Meigen)and Frankliniella occidentalis(Pergande), was compared. There was no significant difference in developmental period (12.36 d vs 12.19 d) or fecundity (89.58 vs 95.72 eggs) between O.sauteri fed on either diet. These results suggest that both diets are equally suitable for the mass of rearing of O.sauteri in captivity.
